Nicky Hilton Rothschild is over the crop top craze.

While chatting with PEOPLE at mom Kathy Hilton’s DirecTV holiday party, the entrepreneur, 40, revealed that the midriff-baring shirts are no longer part of her wardrobe.

Once at the forefront of the 2000s crop top craze with sister Paris Hilton, Nicky says that the garment may be on-trend again, but she is just “not about” them anymore.

“It's not for me,” she tells PEOPLE. “There's something a little trashy about them. I don't know.”

A clothing item that she is currently fond of? Chanel jackets.

She says the best gift she has received from her sister and fashion twin Paris, 42 — whom she's “always been super close” with — was a crown jewel for her collection.

“For my birthday, she bought me a gorgeous Chanel jacket,” says Nicky, who turned 40 on Oct. 5 in Paris with her sister by her side.

The fashion lover says she has built a “nice collection” over the years — including “lots of the vintage ones” — “but [Paris] bought me an exquisite one when we were in Paris, which I love.”

“I haven't worn it yet,” she adds. “I will.”

Another clothing item Nicky is enjoying at the moment is also in the outerwear family.

"I love a beautiful camel coat,” she tells PEOPLE.

And when it comes to layering underneath them, the possibilities are practically endless — she loves everything about winter fashion.

"The holiday season is my favorite time to dress up because I love party dresses. I love the jewel tones, the velvets, the crystals,” she tells PEOPLE, adding that she also has “lots of” boots and tights in rotation this time of year.

As for the holiday occasions she’ll be “dressing up” for, Nicky says her family is “so excited” to go head to Paris’ house for Christmas.

Nicky shares daughters Lily-Grace Victoria, 7, and Theodora "Teddy" Marilyn, 5, and a 17-month-old son (whose name she has not yet revealed) with husband James Rothschild — and she says they are all excited to “see their aunt and their cousins” at their family’s celebration.

“It's going to be really nice,” she says, adding that her kids “love going to” Paris’ house.

“They love the pink Bentley,” she continues. “And I mean, she just has bookshelves of dolls and toys. It's like a big toy store. So they just think she's like this most glamorous Barbie doll.”

Nicky also says her family will “spend time” with her in-laws, who will fly in from the United Kingdom, because they “always come around Christmas time”

“We usually do Christmas in California,” she adds. “I like a California Christmas.”
