Nicki Minaj shares set photos from her new sitcom

She may not have a catchy moniker for them yet, but Nicki Minaj couldn’t help showing off the young stars of her sitcom Nicki in a few behind-the-scenes photos.

The Grammy-winning artist shared several snaps from the set on her Instagram account Wednesday, including one with the caption, “I’m still working on their collective name. Wait until u see these girls in action. … I’m slightly obsessed with them. Handpicked ALL OF THEM!!!!! Very PROUD!!!!!!!!”

ABC Family, now known as Freeform, announced in September that Minaj would executive produce and appear in a half-hour comedy based on her family’s immigration from Trinidad in the early ’90s. The show will chronicle her formative years in Queens and her personal and musical evolution.

Ariana Neal — that’s her next to Minaj in the pink and leopard-print jacket, natch — will play the lead role in Nicki. A premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.
