Nicki Minaj Pushes Back ‘Pink Friday 2’ Release Date To December

One of the most highly anticipated projects of the year has just been pushed back again. On Tuesday (Oct. 24), Nicki Minaj announced on Instagram Live that her Barbz have to wait a few more weeks than planned for her forthcoming album, Pink Friday 2.

“The new album date for this incredible body of work that I’m so proud of is on a very special day to me and to the Barbz,” the “Superbass” rapper stated in the clip. “It will come out on my birthday. Pink Friday 2, I’m so happy to announce, will be out on my birthday.” Minaj’s birthday is Dec. 8.

Previously, the Queens spitter pushed back the release date to Nov. 17 and also heightened the hype by declaring Pink Friday 2 will be a “masterpiece.” “Y’all, I’m not even kidding. In 111 days… Pink Friday 2 is coming to save & restore hope in mankind,” the rhymer wrote on X in July. “Omg barbz I love you I dooooo! Like when y’all have this masterpiece y’all gon be on [cloud emoji] [nine emoji]. Omg I love it so much y’all. I assfcfhnkjhdbyik.”

As fans wait for the full project to be unleashed, they have been enjoying various snippets and the first official single “Last Time That I Saw You.” After initially teasing the track on Instagram, Minaj performed the song live at the 2023 MTV VMAs. Revisit her performance below.

The 40-year-old star also announced that she has big tour plans for the upcoming LP, stating that the trek will be her best yet.

“I mean, it’s gonna be greater than every other tour combined — like this album… This will be a very different feeling tour, even if you’ve been to every Nicki Minaj tour that’s ever existed,” she said on Instagram Live. “There are certain things that I always do similar in all my tours; this time, it’s going to be a completely different perspective.”
