Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty have been ordered to pay a $500,000 default judgement stemming from an alleged physical assault of a security guard in Germany.

On Friday (March 22), a Los Angeles judge ruled that Minaj, 41, and Petty, 45, must fork over a half-million dollars to security staffer Thomas Weidenmuller, who filed the lawsuit against the married couple after Petty allegedly broke his jaw after a dispute between Weidenmuller and Minaj.

According to Weidenmuller, the attack took place during a 2019 concert Minaj was performing at in Frankfurt, Germany, and was retaliation for his seeming “disrespect” of the rapper due to him speaking out in defense of another security guard.

The plaintiff says that after a fan breached a barricade and was able to climb on stage during Minaj’s performance, the rap star became incensed with a female security guard she believed had allowed the incident to occur, verbally berating the staffer while recording her with camera phone.

When Weidenmuller stepped in to criticize Minaj for attempting to “ruin” the female staffer’s professional reputation, the hitmaker allegedly directed her ire towards him, hurling a shoe in his direction, which ultimately missed him. Shortly after, the plaintiff says that Petty blindsided him with a punch to the face, which shattered his jaw, leaving him “stunned and disoriented.”

Weidenmuller detailed the ambush and the extent of his injuries in a court filing. “I felt a blinding pain in my head, neck, face and jaw. I could tell in that instant that something was seriously wrong with my jaw,” the plaintiff wrote.

“I now have five plates in my jaw, and my jaw has not yet been fully reconstructed. The doctors must still insert implants into my jaw as a part of the reconstruction process. In the interim, the doctors have inserted donor bones from a deceased person into my mouth in order to preserve space for the future implants.”

Weidenmuller was seeking $700,000 from Minaj and Petty for emotional pain and suffering, as well as $21,000 to cover his medical expenses, but was ultimately awarded $503,318.

The judgement was awarded after Minaj and Petty never responded to the lawsuit, despite several attempts to serve the couple, including trips to their home in Calabasas, Ca., and posting the summons for their court appearance in the newspaper.
