Nicki Minaj is on PETA’s good list. The Queens rapper received praise from the People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals for her latest effort outside of music, a footwear line.

“Calling all the barbs,” signaled the organization on X adding multiple pink bow emojis. “We’re excited to see that @NICKIMINAJ‘s new line of #vegan sneakers spared cows & other animals by not using leather.”

The upload shared a graphic of Minaj and detailed how her sneakers with LØCI are crafted from recycled bottles, recycled nylon and brass, cork, bamboo, and bio leather.

Announced earlier this month, the “Barbie Dreams” performer and vegan apparel brand LØCI teamed up to launch the rapper’s line of signature sneakers. The collection features 11 custom pairs that are described as blending “street-cool aesthetics with high-fashion chic.”

“4/12 = 11 new pairs of my OWN sneaker,” wrote the 41-year-old on Instagram sharing the fashion news. “11 completely different designs for you to choose from. An absolute dream come true. I can’t WAIT for you guys to see my 1st collection!!!! Link in bio to SIGN UP NOW!!!!!

She continued, “Thank you to my team for helping me make this dream come to fruition. This isn’t a sponsorship. I’m an owner & partner & we will be showing you the first complete collection on 4/12. Love you BARBZ. THANK YOU. Nicki Minaj X LØCi @lociwear.”

According to the official website, prices for the colorful kicks begin at $185 for the Apex x Nicki Minaj. Each pair features a regal stamp on the tongue, paying homage to her reign as the Queen of Rap, and the British roots of LØCI.

Ahead of the drop, celebrities including Alicia Keys, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mila Kunis, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson were known fans of the brand, per Forbes.
