For Barbz around the world, today is a holiday. On Friday, Dec. 8, legions of Nicki Minaj fans made their way to Gag City to celebrate the release of the rapper’s highly anticipated Pink Friday 2. With the use of AI, fans created a virtual kingdom complete with local attractions inspired by different Minaj songs and lyrics; even Sexyy Red, Tyla and Spotify made the pilgrimage to Gag City.

Pink Friday 2 is Minaj’s long-awaited fifth studio album and the sequel to Pink Friday, her Billboard 200-topping 2010 debut album. The new 22-track set features collaborations with Drake, J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Skeng, Skillibeng, Lourdiz, Tate Kobang, Lil Uzi Vert, Future and Tasha Cobbs Leonard. Several of Minaj’s recent singles also appear on the tracklist, including “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” “Last Time I Saw You,” and the Billboard Hot 100-topping “Super Freaky Girl.”

Nicki Minaj has earned 133 Hot 100 hits, three of which hit the summit. On the Billboard 200, the 2024 Grammy nominee has sent two titles to No. 1 — Pink Friday and 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded — from six career entries, all of which hit the top 10.
