Nicki Minaj seemingly enjoys engaging with her Barbz on social media, especially when she’s dropping a few facts unknown to her fans.

On Sunday (July 16), a Twitter user posted a poll of Minaj’s 2018 single “Chun-Li” and her recent track “Red Ruby Da Sleeze.” The person whose handle is listed as CJ then asked his fellow users to choose their fighter. After learning of the poll, the Trinidadian-born lyricist retweeted the post with a few words about her hit songs.

“How dare you?” the Grammy-nominated rapper tweeted. “Chun was written as a single/radio/GAG on an original beat that I helped to create from scratch [with a] producer. The video was the best thing since sliced bread and ‘Anaconda.’ Ruby was written as a calm flex BAR FOR BAR GAG. Don’t do Chun. Don’t you DARE DO CHUN.”

In a follow-up post, Minaj retweeted another user: “They need to stop playing with ‘Chun-Li’ like it wasn’t a cultural moment and one of your best songs ever.” The “Moment 4 Life” songwriter added, “Shot by Steven Klein… introduced new alter ego now stamped in history, fashion, storyline, cinematography, monologue, the dancers, the choreo, the looks, hair, FACE CARD… Won the VMA… Like… I gotta giggle.” Minaj then proceeded to promote her upcoming highly anticipated fifth studio album. “See y’all on 11.17.23 [though]. Pink Friday 2,” she mentioned.

On June 29, the 40-year-old versatile artist shocked her fans by announcing her forthcoming project. In a lengthy tweet, Minaj spoke about changing the album date, an impending tour, and releasing her body of work’s cover art soon. “I love you guys so much. I am so grateful for the years of support and love you guys have given me,” she tweeted. “At times, maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album.”
