Nicki Minaj Apologizes to Fans for Postponing Amsterdam Concert After Her Arrest

The rapper asked her supporters to "accept my deepest & most sincere apologies"

• The rapper apologized to fans on Sunday after her show for that evening had to be canceled

• "They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass," Minaj said

Nicki Minaj has issued an apology to her Amsterdam fans.

After the rapper, 41, was released from police custody in the Netherlands hours after she recorded herself being arrested by Dutch officers for allegedly “carrying drugs," Minaj met with supporters outside her hotel in Manchester, England, to express her sorrow that she had to cancel a show that evening part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

“I love you, and I’m so sorry this happened tonight,” Minaj said in a video shared by a fan account on social media.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Minaj reacted to her arrest and thanked "everyone who prayed for me today," adding: "May God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination."

The "Anaconda" musician then spoke more in-depth about her Amsterdam show being canceled, writing, "After sitting in a jail cell for 5-6 hours, my plane still didn’t take off for another 20 mins once I boarded. The flight was 50 mins. 50 mins."

"That’s why they had to do the big song & dance b/c they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 1130pm," she continued. "The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that."

"So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded @ getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time," added Minaj. "I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho."

The mother of one then asked her fans to "accept my deepest & most sincere apologies. They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass."

"They’ve been doing this over & over & over & over & over again & I’ve tried so hard to not discuss it b/c you guys deserve to just get the good stuff. I hate involving you in anything that isn’t for entertainment purposes only," Minaj stated.

The Grammy nominee then said, "I’ll find a way to not only make up the date with the performance but I’m going to create an added bonus for everyone that had a tkt for this show. Promise."

She concluded her post by letting fans know that her shows in Birmingham and Manchester were still scheduled to go on as planned.

Minaj initially recorded her arrest in an Instagram Live video that was posted on X by a fan account. In it, police officers could be heard telling Minaj that she was "under arrest" for "carrying drugs," before asking her to get in a van to go to the police station.

In a second video posted on her Instagram, Minaj spoke from behind the camera to a man in a suit, who told her that officers wanted to reach her luggage again "because you filmed [the police officer]. .. He doesn't believe you don't have more with you than you said."

In a series of posts on X on May 25, Minaj wrote that the arrest was an attempt to "sabotage my tour."

"They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc," she said.

A representative for Minaj has not responded to PEOPLE's request for comment.
