Nickelodeon Gets ‘Grounded’ With New Live-Action Tween Series: MIPTV

Nickelodeon has acquired worldwide rights to Breakthrough Entertainment’s upcoming tween comedy series Grounded. The live-action show is executive produced by Paula Hart of Hartbreak Films (Melissa And Joey) along with Breakthrough’s Ira Levy, Peter Williamson and Joan Lambur. The story sees 2 Greek goddess teens who are cast out of Mount Olympus and grounded to Earth to work at their Uncle Gus’ Pita Palace in a suburban mall. Cast has yet to be announced. Breakthrough will produce an initial 26 episodes starting this summer in Toronto. Nickelodeon will roll out the show across its portfolio of channels beginning in spring 2013.
