Nia Long enjoyed some special time in New York City this weekend with two of her favorite people.

On Tuesday, the actress, 53, shared a photo on Instagram from her weekend with sons Kez Sunday and Massai Zhivago, with the two posing together with birthday balloons on the city sidewalk.

"Happy 12th Birthday Kez. Massai thank you for being the best big brother. 😘," she captioned the shot.

Long teased Kez's birthday celebrations on Instagram Saturday, sharing a photo of the tween smiling from ear to ear.

"And Kezzie’s birthday weekend begins 🥳," she wrote.

Long reflected on her role as a mom in conversation with Jeezy in promotion of his album "I Might Forgive... But I Don't Forget."

"I'm raising boys. It's very interesting when you're trying to get that young boy to be a man and go out into the world. I would say I do a good job of being present with them, but then there's that part of me that, I don't want to raise mama's boys."

Elsewhere in the conversation, she talked about navigating her "really public breakup" and how the situation served as a "wakeup call" for her as a mom.

"It was a wakeup call for me in the sense of, 'Okay, you're going to do this on your own and you're going to be fine. You're not going to worry about what anyone thinks or has to say,'" she explained.

Of her trying to keep things afloat amid a "rocky" relationship, she added, "I think my older son saw me trying to keep the family together, but I had to come to a place where loving myself was bigger and more important than saving anybody."
