NHL Player Reaches Out to Anna Kendrick, Hilarious Talk-Ups Ensue

Sometimes it never hurts to just try your shot, after all, it was the greatest hockey player to ever live, Wayne Gretzky, that said 'You miss every shot you don't take'. It also helps to have the support of others talking you up.

This is exactly what occurred when NHL star and New York Islanders hockey player, Anthony Beauvillier tweeted at Anna Kendrick. Whether or not Beauvillier's seemingly innocent tweet was more than just a little 'hello', people from all over the place came to his side to boost him up and make him look like a great guy.

Hilarity ensued and Kendrick was thoroughly entertained by the overwhelming responses, to say the least.

Anthony Beauvillier, The Legend

On Christmas Day, Beauvillier tweeted out to Kendrick "Hi @AnnaKendrick47", with her responding back two days later. She wasn't the only one to tweet back at the NHL star, though. Others from around the internet chimed in, aiming to put Beauvillier in good light as a worthy and prospective suitor for Kendrick. Hilariously, though, they were quite the embellishments and hyperboles.

Fellow Islands teammate, Bruno Gervais, responded, "Remember Beau when you saved me from a burning building, cooked me a 7-course meal and taught me 8 languages , that was a great day." What a guy!

Podcaster, David Wheeler got in on the action sharing the amazing story of when Beauvillier donated an usually large amount of kidneys. "Dude. You donated all 5 of your kidneys to everyone of my children. Thank you! Thank you! Just in case they need a spare. So generous," he graciously thanked Beauville.

Such an Amicable Guy

As the responses kept coming in, the comedic value continued to sore. Actor Matthew Postlethwaite chimed in, "Hi Beau, Just wanted to say thank you again for passing on that film role and suggesting me! Massively appreciate your heart!”

Other Twitter users claimed that Beauvillier saved their grandmother from a coyote and even helped save their parent's marriage. Totally plausible!

One person claimed to have actual evidence of Beauville's sincerity and good-heartedness, posting a picture of the hockey puck he once received from the Islanders star. In the tweet, he stated, "Hey Anna, everyone’s joking around with fake info but I’m not. He IS the nicest guy, gave me a puck as a rookie, back in 2015, during a rookie scrimmage at Barclays Center. He nodded @ me and returned with it. I was watching hockey live for the 1st time and he hooked me up."

Anna Kendrick's Entertainment for Several Days

While the Twitterverse was certainly entertained by these responses, Kendrick, herself, was thoroughly enjoying them as the continued to pour in.

Kendrick shared a message to everyone that had responded to Beauvillier's tweet. "These replies have been my entertainment for the last two days," the actress said. "Thank you all for regaling me with the true tales of this man’s heroism."

And with everyone taking notice of what was at play here, some tried to convince Kendrick that there were so many strong relationships that celebrities have with hockey players and that she should strongly consider dating Beauvillier. They named a few relationships like that of Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher.

From Twitter to the Real World?

We don't know if Kendrick will take this conversation from Twitter to the real world and at least go out on a date with Beauvillier, but from the support that has come in on Twitter, you know everybody will be pulling for the two to get together at some point.

And she doesn't have to worry about him being a bad guy because, after all, he's donated five kidneys, saved grandmothers from coyote attacks, and saved people's marriages. I mean, what kind of bad person would do those things?
