NFL Star Julian Edelman Arrested In Los Angeles For Vandalism

In the one place, you wouldn't expect to see NFL star wide receiver Julian Edelman on playoff's weekend is arrested or in handcuffs while in Los Angeles, CA.

According to Bev Hills Police, the 'New England Patriots' star was arrested on Saturday night in Beverly Hills, California and cited for misdemeanor vandalism.

Edelman allegedly jumped on the hood of a vehicle on Saturday night, causing damage to the car. Julian was apparently walking down a street in Beverly Hills around 9 pm when for some unknown reason he jumped on the hood of a Mercedes Benz.

Arrested After Jumping On Hood Of A Mercedes

According to reports, someone witnessed the car jumping and flagged down the cops who were nearby working on a different case. At that point, Edelman was arrested and cited for misdemeanor vandalism he was then released.

Law enforcement sources tell us, it was actually a citizen's arrest and the person wanted to "teach him a lesson" after he jumped on the car.

Our sources say there was minimal damage to the car itself.

Dinner W/ Danny Amendola and Paul Pierce Before Arrest

It's a weird move, considering the 33-year old wide receiver is set to have surgery on his left knee during the offseason.

Julian was apparently drinking earlier in the evening, after enjoying dinner with pals Danny Amendola and Paul Pierce inside a Beverly Hills restaurant. Pierce posted a photo of the threesome inside of the dinner.

The NFL star is scheduled to appear at Airport Courthouse on April 13.

Obviously, Edelman wasn't on the field Sunday morning after his team was knocked out of the playoffs by the Tennesse Titans. If it makes it feel any better, the Tennessee Titans beat the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday night.

Possible Civil Payment For The Damages

Edelman was named Most Valuable Player in Super Bowl LIII and was the Patriots' leading receiver in 2019 with 100 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns.

As for what happens next, the Los Angeles District Attorney will decide whether to charge the NFL star with a crime. But, in many cases like this...as long as Julian pays for the damage of the car they may drop the case.

We are guessing the check is already in the mail.
