Chandler Jones broke down during a recent Instagram Live and mentioned Aaron Hernandez’s death. In the video, Jones began to cry as he answered a comment regarding his former New England Patriots teammate dying by suicide. “Y’all thought Chico [Hernandez] killed himself in jail?” the NFL All-Star said before uncontrollably sobbing.

The live followed a series of alarming xweets posted by the defensive end since the beginning of the NFL season. Regarding Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach, Jones called Josh McDaniels a “cokehead.” He also demanded that the football team’s front office “get him the f**k outta Las Vegas” and called Vegas “his city.” Chandler also posted about Raiders owner Mark Davis, claiming he isn’t answering his calls.

The Rochester, N.Y., native hasn’t played a snap during the 2023 NFL season. The Vegas organization placed Chandler Jones on the non-football injury list before their week three showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Coach McDaniels briefly spoke about Jones’ absence and claimed that the matter was “a personal situation.” “We’ve never really gone into those kinds of things,” Josh told the media. “It’s a private matter.”

Since then, Jones has gone on multiple rants across social media. In early September 2023, the Raiders star sent a shot at the Las Vegas coaching staff. He called out McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler and declared that he wouldn’t play on a team they ran.

In a subsequent IG Story, the 33-year-old claimed that the Las Vegas Raiders sent a crisis response team to his home. He posted a photo of Dr. Heather Thanepohn, Clinic Program Manager for the Crisis Response Team, and a shot of her office.

Things went dark for the defensive athlete until he returned to social media in late September. On Monday (Sept. 25), Jones released handwritten notes claiming he was hospitalized “against his will.” He expressed that he was sent to a behavioral facility for monitoring. Chandler then concluded that whoever admitted him to the hospital had “bad intentions.”

Former Steelers wideout Antonio Brown noticed the situation unfolding and stated he “reached out” to Jones. Brown, who has had his own alarming moments, took to X/Twitter to declare he is on his way to help the Raiders player. “I love you bro coming [to] see you king …… give them my real number we all coming,” he typed. “I will be mending the gap @Raiders @chanjones55 We can do it let’s get him back on squid games, let him play allow him opportunity to level up his outburst just held in pent up aggression he got presidential blood line of Geechy. You never know what we individually been through…… CTE.”

Chandler Jones inked a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022. Josh Mcdaniels signed on to become the team’s head coach earlier that year in January.
