NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers returning to Green Bay Packers

Four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers is returning to the Green Bay Packers.

According to Pat McAfee of “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers considered retirement but will be returning to the Packers on a “cap friendly deal.”

Rodgers, who turns 39 in December, will come back for an 18th season with the Packers.

The franchise stayed patient and remained committed to Rodgers throughout his decision-making process. Now, the Packers can start executing other moves to build the roster around him while getting under the salary cap by the start of the new league year on March 16.

A new deal for Rodgers will help lower his cap number down from $46.7 million in 2022.

Rodgers was named the NFL MVP in 2021 after throwing 37 touchdown passes and only four interceptions. He led the Packers to a 13-4 record and the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
