NFL star Chris Olave, who plays for the New Orleans Saints, was arrested Monday night after he allegedly drove 70mph in a 35mph zone.

The star wide receiver allegedly drove recklessly on a street in Louisiana as officers say Olave was going 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone in a mixed business/residential area. Citizens who live in the area have previously complained of people speeding.

Olave was driving his Dodge Charger when he "recklessly maneuvering between lanes and around other drivers on the roadway" in addition to driving double the speed limit.

A spokesperson for the Kenner Police Department said in a statement that "Olave was booked on a charge of reckless operation of a motor vehicle after officers say he was going 70 MPH in a 35 MPH zone in a mixed business/residential area where citizens had complained of people speeding."

The 23-year-old wide receiver was arrested and put in jail around 9 PM. He was released at 11:30 PM.

Chris' brother, Josh Olave, took to social media late Monday night to comment on the arrest, seemingly making it out to be no big deal... "Bro was on the way back to the crib from CVS... aint nun serious," Olave wrote on X, the social media platform previously known as Twitter.

UCLA football reporter James H. Williams responded to Josh's claim, saying that his charge was serious. "Going 70 in a 35 is serious 🙄," he said.

As another fan chimed in by expressing, "A 35 mph zone means it’s was residential witch means kids . If he would have hit one of those kids it would have been serious."

"Does it matter where you’re going if you’re driving 70 in a damn 35?? That’s dangerous asl," a third said.

Los Angeles Rams starting cornerback Derion Kendrick was arrested following a traffic stop early Monday morning. Kendrick was booked at 2:14 AM PT (5:14 AM ET) on a felony charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

Derion Kendrick was selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the sixth round (212th overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft. This year so far, just six games into the 2023 NFL season, Kendrick has 25 total tackles, but 0 sacks.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown was arrested last weekend for allegedly not paying child support to the mother of one of his children.

Broward Sheriff’s Office jail records show that the 35-year-old former NFL player was booked around midnight on Sunday on an out-of-county warrant, The Blast previously reported.

Antonio Brown was released on a $15,000 bond.

A few days prior to his arrest, Wiltrice Jackson, who is the mother of Brown’s daughter, Antanyiah, spoke out, claiming that Brown owes her nearly $31,000 in unpaid child support and she wants him arrested because he “feels untouchable”.
