Which NFL broadcasts will New Orleans receive with the Saints on bye?

The New Orleans Saints are off this week while resting up during their bye, but there will be plenty of NFL action to catch up on. And a number of games being shown in New Orleans feature fan-favorites from LSU and other local college programs.

Thursday, Oct. 14: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Philadelphia Eagles

This week’s Thursday night game will kick off at 7:20 p.m. CT on FOX and NFL Network. Tampa Bay has a one-game lead on the Saints and Carolina Panthers and any slip-up here could be big when they visit New Orleans in a few weeks. The Eagles just snapped a three-game losing streak on the road with Carolina but are 6.5-point underdogs at home. Maybe tune in for the first half and see how it goes.

Sunday, Oct. 17: Miami Dolphins at Jacksonville Jaguars from London

Yuck. If you’re just wanting to have your TV on all day, tune in for this early-morning tilt at 8:30 a.m. CT on CBS. The banged-up Dolphins are 1-4 while Urban Meyer’s leaderless Jaguars are winless through five weeks. Miami are 3.5-point favorites at a neutral site overseas. Maybe Trevor Lawrence can make this one interesting despite facing a strong-on-paper Dolphins defense.

Sunday, Oct. 17: Kansas City Chiefs at Washington Football Team

Both teams are 2-3, which feels really weird given their expectations going into this season. If you didn’t get your fill of Taylor Heinicke last week you can tune in at noon CT on CBS to see him carve up Steve Spagnuolo’s Chiefs defense. While Kansas City is a 6.5-point favorite on the road, Spagnuolo’s defense looks just as dazed and confused as the 2012 Saints squad he fielded.

Sunday, Oct. 17: Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions

Finally a fun game. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase have been electric, and they’ll feature in the only NFL action on FOX (at noon CT) we’ll see this week. They’re visiting Detroit for a matchup with Dan Campbell and Aaron Glenn’s squad, which has played hard but been dealt a series of hard breaks in their winless start. Can Campbell’s team finally find a win or will the two LSU alums keep setting off fireworks?

Sunday, Oct. 17: Dallas Cowboys at New England Patriots

Ugh, another Cowboys layup win being broadcast far and wide. It would be very surprising if Mac Jones and the Patriots win here even if they’re only 4.5-point underdogs. They just don’t have the firepower to keep up with Dak Prescott and his all-star receiving corps. If you can stomach a Cowboys game, tune in to CBS at 3:25 p.m. CT.

Sunday, Oct. 17: Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers

This is going to be a really ugly Sunday night game on NBC (at 7:20 p.m. CT). Ben Roehtlisberger looks even more cooked than Drew Brees was in his worst moments last year. The poorly-built Seahawks are hoping Geno Smith can make up for a defense lacking playmakers despite all the resources poured into Jamal Adams, who hasn’t done much for them this year. Maybe the also-bad Steelers defense makes enough mistakes to keep the game entertaining, but Pittsburgh is a 4.5-point home favorite.

Monday, Oct. 18: Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans

The Bills are 5.5-point favorites on the road against a Titans team that has fallen very, very short of expectations. Mike Vrabel’s team is 3-2 and has scored just two more points than they’ve allowed. Buffalo should test them with a high-flying offense that’s featured Emmanuel Sanders to an annoying degree. He’s already gained 44% of the receiving yards he picked up with the Saints last year and benefited from Josh Allen’s big arm. Maybe Derrick Henry can challenge a Bills run defense that has been strong up to this point. Kickoff is scheduled at 7:15 p.m. CT on ESPN.
