‘The Words’ Helmer Brian Klugman Tackles Romantic Drama ‘Baby, Baby, Baby’

EXCLUSIVE: Actor, writer, and director Brian Klugman sold his literary-themed directorial debut The Words to CBS Films out of Sundance. Now he’s set his next drama about a writer navigating life and relationships, which he’ll again work in front of and behind the camera. Baby, Baby, Baby tracks the relationship between two mismatched people who try to move past their baggage to make their love work. Klugman stars as a writer of short stories living in LA whose mind wanders into fantasy asides starring famous people reflecting the state of his relationship. Adrianne Palicki (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Friday Night Lights) and Michaela Conlin (Bones, The Lincoln Lawyer) star as the two women in his life, with Conlin playing Klugman’s ex-girlfriend and Palicki as the painter he moves on with.

Film is produced by Bobby Bauer (Waitress), who met Klugman when the multihyphenate acted on his Starz comedy Head Case. Klugman in turn recruited Conlin after working with her on Bones, which she’s a series regular on, when he did a 10-episode arc on the show. Also featured in the pic are James Roday, Kelsey Grammer, and Kelly McCreary who round out the cast along with a number of celebrity cameos that are being kept under wraps. Baby, Baby, Baby shot for 22 days on location in LA and will feature music by Rilo Kiley’s Blake Sennett. Cassidy Lunnen is also producer on the Uncle Jack, LLC and Stamper Lumber Company production. Klugman is repped by Pakula/King & Associates, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Resolution. Palicki is repped by WME and Anonymous Content. Conlin is repped by Evolution Entertainment.
