Will Grandma Agree to Adoption on 'I'm Having Their Baby'? [Exclusive Video]

Adoption is often thought of as a celebration for the new parents, filled with high hopes for the baby, but there's another side to the story that's not necessarily so joyous — that of the birth mom and her family. This is the focus of Oxygen's reality series "I'm Having Their Baby," which aims to give an intimate, emotional look at the ups and downs of the adoption process from the birth mom's perspective.

In this exclusive sneak peek at the Season 2 premiere episode, Sharanda, 30, and her boyfriend, Jeremy, are hesitant to talk to his mom, Paulette, about their decision to put their baby up for adoption once he's born, knowing that Paulette won't approve. "My mom doesn't believe that we should actually go through with the adoption at all," Jeremy says.

Sharanda is particularly anxious that going through with it will affect Paulette's feelings toward her, saying, "I want to be with Jeremy for the rest of my life, so I'm just a little bit worried that she won't forgive me — like she'll look at me and say, 'You had my grandson, but you gave him away.'"

The couple shows Paulette the prospective adoptive parents' profile and touts their good qualities, such as the husband's steady job and the fact that they don't have any kids. "We want him to have the best of everything," Jeremy tells his mom. Sharanda and Jeremy currently have four children at home.

Paulette is calm, but she definitely doesn't believe that adoption is the answer. "If there's a will, there's a way," she says. "Our faith in God is He always provided. He don't make no mistake."
