Viewster Announces Global Winners of Online Film Festival
Online video service Viewster has announced the winners of the second edition of the Viewster Online Film Festival.
Centering on the theme “Relationship Status: It’s Complicated,” participants from all around the world submitted films for a chance to win a share of $100,000 USD in prizes, as well as feedback from a panel of judges including independent film producer Ted Hope, actress Nora Tschirner and “Iron Sky” producer Timo Vuorensola.
The festival’s top prize of $70,000 was awarded to Ali Zare Ghanatnowi of Iran for his animated short film “Dad’s Fragile Doll.” Second place went to Taegue Lim of South Korea for “Wrong,” with Sylvia Borges of Germany taking third for her comedy “Your Place,” and Adam Janisch of Poland in fourth for “Next.”
“When we started this festival competition, we just wanted to create a place for filmmakers to showcase their work and for film fans to discover creative international content,” said Kai Henniges, CEO of Viewster. “The second festival edition surpassed our expectations and we consider it a great reward that that the winners represent such different global and cultural perspectives.”
