Paradis and Depp have fiercely guarded their private lives and what contributed to the end of their 14-year relationship, but Paradis did at least reveal how she feels about the breakup.

"I don't have the recipe for happiness, but I think the engine is simply having the desire," she said. "It's not feeling obliged or forced or repeating yourself."

"I hate, for example, whenever you hear someone say: 'You have to work at being a couple,'" she continued. "No, you have to want to be there ... And for me, I want to be right where I am right now.'"

Paradis and Depp have two children together: Lily-Rose, 14, and Jack, 10, who will reportedly attend school in Los Angeles while their mom splits her time between the U.S. and France.
