UFC Fight Night Headed to San Antonio this Summer

Fresh off their visit to Dallas, the UFC will return to Texas this summer.

UFC President Dana White announced on Saturday night that the company will host a fight card in San Antonio's AT&T Center on June 28.

“Texas has been very good to us,” White said at the UFC 171 post-fight press conference. “So we're going to come back.”

The June card will air on FOX Sports 1, which means a UFC Fight Night is headed to the Lone Star State.

The organization's recent return to Texas for UFC 171 featured a welterweight title fight between Johny Hendricks and Robbie Lawler. Hendricks edged out Lawler in the main event, earning the vacated title and becoming the division's first new champion since 2008, when former champ Georges St-Pierre defeated Matt Serra to regain the title.

The UFC's previous visit to Texas was UFC 166, which featured the third fight between heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.

Tickets for the June event go on sale April 11. Match-ups for the card were not revealed.
