Travi$ Scott's 'Rodeo' Rides to No. 1 on Rap Albums Chart

Travi$ Scott opens at No. 1 on the Rap Albums chart (dated Sept. 26) with his full-length debut set, Rodeo, selling 70,000 copies in the week ending Sept. 10 (according to Nielsen Music). The set earns a No. 3 start on the Billboard 200, with 85,000 equivalent album units. Scott concurrently arrives at No. 6 on the Billboard Artist 100, which ranks the week's most popular artists across all genres.

Scott’s debut spurs album cut “Antidote” back onto Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at No. 24 (following its one-week stint at No. 48 on the chart dated Sept. 12), backed in part by 2.7 million streams during for the week. A teaser for the upcoming music video was uploaded to Scott’s Vevo channel on Sept. 3.

The chart-topping start marks the third time this year that a rap act’s debut set has opened at No. 1 on Rap Albums (following Rae Sremmurd’s SremmLife and Lil Dicky’s Professional Rapper).

Drake’s ‘Bling’ Bounds: Over on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Drake’s “Hotline Bling” continues its climb, rising 9-6 and earning Streaming Gainer and Digital Gainer honors. The track has its highest streaming week, logging 9.6 million plays (up 20 percent) -- of those 52 percent stem from Spotify. It likewise grasps its bestselling week with 67,000 downloads sold, a 24 percent jump. “Bling” leaps 22-16 on the Billboard Hot 100, earning his 25th top 20 on the tally.

Wiz Khalifa Blazes Onto Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs: The highest Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs entrance of the week goes to Wiz Khalifa, with “Burn Slow,” featuring Rae Sremmurd, arriving at No. 28. The main contributor for the debut comes from digital sales, with 32,000 downloads sold during the first tracking week following its Sept. 3 release (accounting for 59 percent of points funding its debut).

Only one week after “Burn Slow” dropped, the rapper released “No Social Media,” featuring Snoop Dogg. Its not yet clear if the new tracks will form part of Khalifa’s forthcoming set, Rolling Papers 2, expected later this year.

Scarface Returns: Rap veteran Scarface debuts on the Billboard Artist 100 at No. 50, powered by sales of his new album, Deeply Rooted. The set starts at No. 2 on Rap Albums and No. 8 on Top Album Sales with 22,000 copies sold and No. 11 on the Billboard 200 (24,000 equivalent album units). The rapper, and Geto Boys member, notches his highest rank on the Billboard 200 since 2002, when The Fix became his sixth top 10, debuting and peaking at No. 4. The World Is Yours became his first Billboard 200 top 10 in 1993, and he reigned with The Untouchable on March 29, 1997. Album sales account for all of Scarface's Artist 100 activity.
