This just in: Tom Brokaw is a grandfather once more! The veteran NBC News journalist welcomed his first grandson on Monday, Feb. 11, a rep told Us Weekly in a statement.
The 73-year-old newsman already has six granddaughters, but Archer Thomas Merritt Brokaw will be Brokaw's first little grandson, breaking the all-female streak. His daughter, Sarah Brokaw, is a licensed therapist and New York Times best-selling author.
The legendary broadcaster had a health scare last fall after feeling "light-headed" during a segment on MSNBC's Morning Joe in Charlotte, NC, NBC News President Steve Capus said in a statement.
But rest assured, the good-natured journalist was soon back on his feet.
"All is well Early AM I mistakenly took half a dose of Ambien and made less sense than usual," he tweeted at concerned fans. "[I] made a better comeback than the Giants!"
