MADRID -- Antena 3’s prime time premiere of The Time in Between snagged more than 5 million viewers and 25.5 percent share for its launch Monday night, marking the best Spanish drama series debut in eight years.
The series, starring Adriana Ugarte, is an adaptation of Maria Dueñas’ best-seller of the same name.
It also registered the day’s most watched TV minute with over 5.7 million viewers (31.6 percent).
Monday’s premiere of The Time in Between, the series produced by Boomerang TV for Antena 3, was a hit among audiences on a very competitive night against two high shows on other national broadcasters. The story of Sira Quiroga won 5,018,000 viewers over, with a 25.5 percent share, beating the channel’s average by 9.5 points in the best national TV drama premiere since 2005.
Monday prime time is the strongest time slot of the week with Telecinco’s talent show LaVoz (3.5 million and a 20.2 percent share Monday night) and TVE’s series Isabel (3 million and 14.8 percent Monday).
