The Most Thankful Movie Characters of 2016

If you’re worried about that moment at your Thanksgiving dinner when you go around the table and say what you’re thankful for, never fear. Let’s look to the cinema for inspiration: the characters from 2016 movies who have had the most reasons to be thankful.

How about Dory from Finding Dory? She sure makes a lot of sense. The star character from the year’s biggest box office success managed to find her parents. That’s awesome. And on that whole family trip, there’s Mowgli from The Jungle Book. At the end of the movie he’s reunited with the wolf pack.

Deadpool, from the movie Deadpool, is able to save his fiancé, and she doesn’t mind his hideous face. Deadshot survived the Enchantress and got to see his daughter again in Suicide Squad. Superman in Batman v. Superman should be thankful his mom’s name is Batman’s mom’s name.

Oh, how about another kind of family — friends. There’s Bucky from Captain America: Civil War. He should be thankful his ol’ pal Steverino believed in him and rescued him from the grips of HYDRA control. Conner4Real in Popstar learned the true meaning of friendship. That’s a reason to give thanks. And then there’s Joe Manganiello. He found his BFF in Pee-wee’s Big Holiday.

Friends, family — oh, how about careers? Nick Wilde found his calling thanks to Judy Hopps in Zootopia. Stephen Strange, as good as he was as a doctor, might be even better as a sorcerer in Doctor Strange.

Oh, gosh, and then there’s Nancy in The Shallows. Yeah, I’d say that surviving a friggin’ shark attack is something to be thankful for. There you go! Pick that one. It’s cool.
