The CW's 2013-14 Season: Where Did All Your Favorite Shows Go?!

Be prepared to reprogram your DVR to catch your favorite CW shows next season, because the network announced at its annual upfront presentation in New York City on Thursday that it will revamp most of its primetime schedule.

"The Vampire Diaries," the network's signature drama, will remain on Thursdays at 8 PM, but sophomore "Sex and the City" prequel "The Carrie Diaries" will move from Mondays to Fridays, the Rachel Bilson drama "Hart of Dixie" moves from Tuesdays to Mondays (when it originally aired), and the network's longest-running series, "Supernatural," will leave Wednesday nights behind to begin its ninth season on Tuesdays.

The CW also announced six new series for next season — three for the fall, three for midseason — including "The Originals," the "Vampire Diaries" spinoff that was introduced in a "Diaries" episode in April.

The network, which canceled "Cult" and "Emily Owens, M.D." and aired the series finales of "Gossip Girl" and "90210" this season, also announced a six-episode final season of "Nikita," though the series is not yet on the schedule.

A description of the new CW series, along with our first impressions about which ones might make our must-see list next fall:

"The 100" (Drama — Midseason)

Stars: Eliza Taylor, Isaiah Washington ("Grey's Anatomy"), Henry Ian Cusick ("Lost"), Paige Turco ("Person of Interest" and "Damages"), Thomas McDonell ("Suburgatory"), Eli Goree ("Emily Owens, M.D."), Marie Avgeropoulos ("50/50"), Bob Morley, Kelly Hu ("X2: X-Men United" and "Arrow"), Christopher Larkin ("Squad 85"), and Devon Bostick ("Aim High")

Producers: Matthew Miller ("Human Target" and "Chuck"), Jason Rothenberg ("Twilight Zone"), Bharat Nalluri ("Torchwood"), Leslie Morgenstein ("The Vampire Diaries"), and Gina Girolamo ("The Secret Circle")

Plot: Nearly a century after Earth was destroyed in a nuclear war, the small group of 400 survivors — which now numbers 4,000 — is running out of resources, so 100 juvenile prisoners are sent to the Earth's surface to see if it's inhabitable again.

First Impression: The show, based on an upcoming book series by author Kass Morgan, should be a hit with teens, who are positioned as the saviors of the human race, and has the possibility to transcend demos, a la YA hits like "The Hunger Games," the "Twilight" books, and Harry Potter.

"Famous in 12" (Reality — Midseason)

Stars: To be announced

Producers: Harvey Levin (TMZ), and Jay Renfroe and David Garfinkle ("The Surreal Life")

Plot: One American family will move to Los Angeles and try to become famous — or infamous, depending on your point of view — just like the Kardashians. They'll be aided in their quest by Levin and his TMZ.com and TMZ TV show crew.

First Impression: Where's the "social experiment" in trying to see if you can turn a family of regular people into the Kardashians? The fact that the Kardashians, and the "Duck Dynasty" and "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" families, have become famous for little more than pursuing becoming famous has already shown us that the experiment will work. Besides, Harvey Levin, aren't you supposed to be making fun of this sort of thing at TMZ, not facilitating it?

"The Originals" (Drama)

Stars: Joseph Morgan ("The Vampire Diaries"), Daniel Gillies ("The Vampire Diaries"), Claire Holt ("The Vampire Diaries" and "Pretty Little Liars"), Phoebe Tonkin ("The Vampire Diaries" and "The Secret Circle"), Charles Michael Davis ("Grey's Anatomy" and "Switched at Birth"), Daniella Pineda ("Homeland"), Leah Pipes ("Sorority Row"), and Danielle Campbell ("Starstruck")

Producers: Julie Plec and Leslie Morgenstein ("The Vampire Diaries"), and Gina Girolamo ("The Lying Game")

Plot: The "Vampire Diaries" spinoff revolves around Klaus (Morgan), a member of the original vampire family, who travels to the French Quarter in New Orleans when he finds out his plotting former protégé Marcel (Davis) is now ruling the city's supernatural and human citizens.

First Impression: It'll be a treat for "Vampire" fans, though since the network is airing the spinoff and the original series at the same time, we kinda wish they were airing them in a vampire-themed block on the same night.

"Reign" (Drama)

Stars: Adelaide Kane ("Teen Wolf"), Toby Regbo ("One Day"), Torrance Coombs ("The Tudors"), Megan Follows ("Anne of Green Gables"), Alan Van Sprang ("The Tudors"), Celina Sinden, Caitlin Stasey, Anna Popplewell ("The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader"), and Jenessa Grant ("Cyberbully")

Producers: Stephanie SenGupta ("Hawaii Five-0"), Laurie McCarthy ("The Ghost Whisperer"), Frank Siracusa ("Beauty and the Beast"), and Brad Silberling ("Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events")

Plot: It's the made-for-TV story of Mary, Queen of Scots, who goes to France with her four friends (her ladies in waiting). She's going there to formalize her engagement to — and her country's alliance with — Prince Francis, the son of the king of France, but she also finds herself attracted to Bash, Francis's roguish half brother.

First Impression: Teen "Tudors"? Or teen "King of Thrones," if Joffrey weren't a character you were constantly wishing a violent, extremely painful death upon.

"Star-Crossed" (Drama — Midseason)

Stars: Aimee Teegarden ("Friday Night Lights"), Matt Lanter ("90210"), Grey Damon ("The Secret Circle"), Natalie Hall ("Pretty Little Liars"), Malese Jow ("The Vampire Diaries" and "Big Time Rush"), Titus Makin Jr. ("Glee"), Chelsea Gilligan ("How I Met Your Mother"), and Greg Finley ("The Secret Life of the American Teenager")

Producers: Bryan and Sean Furst ("Daybreakers"), Daniel Gutman, Gary Fleder, Andre Nemec, Scott Rosenberg and Josh Appelbaum ("Life on Mars"), Meredith Averill ("The Good Wife"), and Richard Shepard ("Ringer")

Plot: Human teen girl Emery (Teegarden) and alien teen boy Roman (Lanter) met years earlier when Roman's Atrians landed on Earth. But she thought he had been killed, and when he shows up at her high school as part of an experiment to see how human and aliens get along, Emery and Roman get along a little too well for some people's comfort.

First Impression: Romeo and Juliet in a modern-day high school, with supernatural elements thrown in, and "FNL" and "90210" stars as the leads? The only question is why The CW's holding on to this one till midseason.

"The Tomorrow People" (Drama)

Stars: Robbie Amell ("Revenge"), Mark Pellegrino ("Lost" and "Supernatural"), Luke Mitchell ("H20: Just Add Water"), Peyton List ("Mad Men"), Aaron Yoo ("Disturbia"), and Madeleine Mantock ("All You Need Is Kill")

Producers: Greg Berlanti ("Arrow" and "Green Lantern"), Julie Plec ("The Vampire Diaries" and "Kyle XY"), Phil Klemmer ("Chuck"), and Danny Cannon ("Nikita")

Plot: The Tomorrow People are a group of superhumans who have the powers of telekinesis, teleportation, and telepathic communication and who live together in an abandoned subway station because they're being hunted by the Ultra, a paramilitary group of scientists who view them as a very serious threat.

First Impression: Seems very "Heroes"-y, and we still haven't gotten over how great that show initially was and how quickly it crashed and burned.
