“Talking Dead” Premiere to Run 90 Minutes, Feature 12 “Walking Dead” Castmembers

A special, 90-minute live edition of “Talking Dead” will follow the Season 7 premiere of “The Walking Dead” on October 23, AMC announced Monday.

The recap show will feature guests Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Michael Cudlitz, Sonequa Martin-Green, Chandler Riggs, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Ross Marquand, and Jeffery Dean Morgan — all of the actors featured in the final Season 6 scene. Executive producers Scott M. Gimple and Robert Kirkman will also appear on the recap show, which is hosted by Chris Hardwick.

Last season’s cliffhanger left viewers wondering which person Negan (Morgan) beat to death with his barb wired-covered bat, nicknamed Lucille.

The identity of the killed-off character has been shrouded in secrecy, and AMC offered no hints by inviting the entire cast onto the “Talking Dead” premiere.

“As ‘The Walking Dead’ returns with one of the most powerful and highly anticipated episodes in series history, it feels fitting to literally share this night with the fans whose support have made this show what it is today,” said AMC president Charlie Collier. “As a fan myself, even I crave a supersized ‘Talking Dead’ to do what it does best – serve as a focal point for fans – along with Chris, the producers and the largest cast the show has ever assembled – to experience, discuss and process together this emotional episode.”

The “Talking Dead” premiere will tape live in front of a 2,000-member audience at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Fans can win tickets to the show via an online sweepstakes beginning October 4.

A trailer for “The Walking Dead” Season 7 released during Comic-Con carefully avoided any spoilers, and also introduced new character Ezekiel and his pet tiger Shiva.

“The Walking Dead” debuts Sunday, October 23rd at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT with “Talking Dead” following at 10:00 p.m ET/PT.
