Stephen Colbert Joins New York Comedy Festival Line-Up

Stephen Colbert will give audiences at The New York Comedy Festival an inside look at how he satirizes the daily news cycle.

Fresh off “The Colbert Report”s’ upset Emmy Award win last week over Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show” for Best Variety Series and Best Writing for a Variety Series, Colbert and his writing team will discuss the process of putting the fake news show together, share clips and anecdotes and answer fans’ questions.

The festival is produced in association with the network that writes Colbert’s checks, Comedy Central. The chat will take place on October 1 at noon.

As befits his on-screen persona, Colbert was all humility in a statement about the event.

“Finally, an opportunity to talk about myself,” he joked “You lucky, lucky people.”

The 10th annual New York Comedy Festival runs November 6 – 10.
