Stars Remember ‘Brady Bunch’ Actress Florence Henderson: ‘She Was Like a Mother to Us All’

The news of Florence Henderson’s passing spread quickly throughout Hollywood.

Stars took to Twitter to express their grief over the loss of the beloved “Brady Bunch” mom, who died Thursday at the age of 82.

Henderson was best known for the ’70s family sitcom and its various spin-off series and specials, but stayed in the public eye, participating on “Dancing With the Stars” in 2010. She was even at Monday night’s “DWTS” finale cheering on her TV daughter Maureen McCormick, who competed this season.

Maureen McCormick lovingly tweeted, “Florence Henderson was a dear friend for so very many years & in my <3 forever. Love & hugs to her family. I’ll miss u dearly.”

“Brady Bunch” star Barry Williams tweeted, “Deeply saddened. Florence was one of the most gracious people I have ever known, Proud to call her Mom and life long friend. #RIPFlorence.”

Christopher Knight, who played youngest Brady son Bobby on “The Brady Bunch,” wrote on Facebook, “I grieve for the passing of my dear friend, Florence, I am privileged to have known her and the kindness of her heart. Her exuberance and charm were magical. She will be missed. Florence Henderson, Rest In Peace.

Carrie Ann Inaba, who judged Florence on “DWTS” added, “She was like a mom to is [sic] all. I’m grateful I had the chance to get to know you these past few years.”

“Seinfeld” star Jason Alexander wrote, “RIP the dear #Florence Henderson. You were a light.”

Added “Will & Grace” star Debra Messing, “RIP Florence Henderson. ‘The Brady Bunch’ was everything.”

Boy George posted, “R.I.P Florence Henderson. I grew up with the Brady Bunch!”

It was a sentiment shared by Holly Robinson Peete, who said, “I’m wrecked that Florence Henderson passed. Grew up watching her like we all did and got to meet & love her DEARLY My heart is punctured.”

Patricia Arquette said the TV legend was a friend to her late sister, Alexis. “Florence Henderson-Warm Talented & kind passed away today.Thank you Florence for being such a kind generous friend to Alexis.”

Josh Gad wrote, “Mrs. Brady was a mother to us all. You will be missed.”

Marlee Matlin tweeted a picture and wrote, “I will miss you, Florence Henderson.”
