Shane McMahon Appears to Get Really Hurt From Rough ‘Survivor Series’ Bump (Video)

Who says pro wrestling is fake? Don’t tell Shane McMahon that.

The “SmackDown Live” commissioner and occasional daredevil wrestler appeared to get really hurt mid-match last night, when he took a particularly devastating Spear from Roman Reigns.

McMahon was attempting his trademark Coast-to-Coast finisher, but the waiting-Reigns had other plans. Shane O’Mac’s (pictured above, right) neck jerked back from the mid-air, high-impact collision, and it looked like his head hit the mat — hard. Reigns went for the cover, and McMahon seemed like he accidentally lifted his shoulder before a “Three” count, perhaps to look at his family ringside. Whether you count the pin or call it a medical disqualification, a disoriented McMahon was carried out of the building.

WWE did not immediately respond to TheWrap‘s request for comment on McMahon’s status. He is next scheduled to appear on TV tomorrow night for USA’s “SmackDown Live,” but that would surely require medical clearance.

During the scary aftermath, the 46-year-old’s teammate Randy Orton walked over to McMahon’s kid in the front row, comforting the youngster. It was a classy move by a classic heel — the pro wrestling term for a bad guy.

Orton explained the moment on Twitter, seemingly confirming that something indeed went off-plan in-ring.

McMahon himself has not tweeted since the incident. Shane is the son of Vince McMahon, who chairs the publicly traded promotion. Shane’s sister and Vince’s daughter Stephanie McMahon runs flagship series “Monday Night Raw.”

Earlier in the match, Shane-O defied gravity by jumping off the top turnbuckle, crashing an elbow-drop through Braun Strowman and an announce table.

It wasn’t the only analyst set destroyed by a body in that epic fight: Watch The Shield — Dean Ambrose, Reigns and Seth Rollins reunite to powerbomb A.J. Styles through a second table.
