Roger Ailes Miniseries in Development at Blumhouse Television

A miniseries about ex-Fox News boss Roger Ailes’ sexual harassment saga is in the works at Blumhouse Television.

Based on Gabe Sherman’s reporting, the TV version will be run by “Spotlight” writer-director Tom McCarthy. Married journalists Sherman and Jennifer Stahl will co-executive produce and pen the limited series.

This project is the first that Blumhouse Television has acquired under co-Presidents Jeremy Gold and Marci Wiseman, who recently joined the company. Jessica Rhoades is the longtime Head of Programming & Development there.

Ailes resigned as CEO and chairman of Fox News Channel earlier this year after former host Gretchen Carlson filed a sexual harassment lawsuit that resulted in numerous women coming forward with similar claims.

He’s continued to deny all allegations, but Fox News settled with Carlson out of court. Rupert Murdoch named Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine the network’s new co-presidents, replacing Ailes with two longtime Fox execs.

Sherman wrote the Ailes-focused New York Times bestselling book “The Loudest Voice in the Room,” a collaboration with Stahl. He’s also National Affairs Editor at New York magazine.

The miniseries was announced Wednesday at the Vanity Fair New Establishment Summit.
