Robin Williams’ Last Film ‘Boulevard’ Headed To U.S. Theaters Via Starz Digital

Starz Digital has acquired U.S. rights to Boulevard, featuring Robin Williams in his final feature performance. Director Dito Montiel’s film, which bowed at Tribeca last year, is set for theatrical release starting July 17 in NYC and other markets.

Kathy Baker, Bob Odenkirk and Roberto Aguire co-star in the pic, which stars Williams as a lonely married man who begins to confront the emptiness that permeates his life. His life changes in surprising ways after recklessly picking up a young male hustler (Aguire). Williams officially joined the project in January 2013; he died in August 2014.

Boulevard is a complex, life-affirming and surprising film, and Robin’s final performance is absolutely remarkable,” said Kevin Kasha, head of acquisitions for Starz. “We are honored to be able to share Dito’s beautiful film with audiences this summer.”

Douglas Soesbe wrote the screenplay for Boulevard, which was produced by Monica Aguirre Diez Barroso, Ryan Belenzon, Mia Chang and Jeffrey Gelber. The film was represented by Preferred Content and WME Global.
