Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are parting ways after two decades together. The couple, who met as teens and have been married since 2005, have decided to separate, reps for the stars confirm to Us Weekly.
"We will always love each other and be best friends," the singer and his actress wife tell Us in a statement. "However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time."
Thicke, 36, and Patton, 37 -- parents to son Julian, 3 -- have weathered a lot together, including rumors of his infidelity. And until now, they've put up a united front.
"I don't know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn't for Paula," the singer told Prestige Hong Kong Magazine last September, as he enjoyed the biggest success of his career with the worldwide smash single "Blurred Lines." "She's been my rock, my muse, my inspiration, and I love her. The whole way."
"I've been there for his down moments, and he's been there for mine," his wife added in the same interview. "Life is full of peaks and valleys. Robin has always been a great person to remind me to celebrate now...We're best friends. We laugh a lot."
