Rob Lowe Channels JFK in 'Killing Kennedy' First Look (Photo)

"The West Wing" alum Rob Lowe is no stranger to playing a White House employee, but now he's taking over the whole operation.

Lowe starts as ill-fated 35th American president John F. Kennedy in the upcoming TV movie "Killing Kennedy" from National Geographic Channel, which released a first look at Lowe in the role on Wednesday.

In the photo, Lowe replicates the solemn pose struck by Kennedy in the iconic official portrait of the slain chief executive.

Based on the book of the same name by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard, the two-hour "Killing Kennedy" will also star Ginnifer Goodwin as Jacqueline Kennedy, Will Rothhaar as Kennedy's assassin Lee Harvey Oswald, and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" vet Michelle Trachtenberg as Oswald's wife Marina.
