Report: NBC Will Not Renew Chris Hansen’s Contract

Chris Hansen, who rose to fame with “Dateline” seg “To Catch a Predator,” is set to part ways with NBC.

According to a report from TV Guide, Hansen’s contract with the Peacock is not being renewed. The journo has logged two decades with the net, picking up seven Emmys after joining the Peacock in 1993.

His “To Catch a Predator” series, which began running on “Dateline NBC” in 2004, brought him to national prominence as he cornered suspected pedophiles who were lured into meeting him in front of camera crews before typically being arrested.

Reruns of the “Predator” segs are featured on MSNBC, though NBC’s “Dateline” began to distance itself from the segments in 2007.
