Ratings: NBC and Fox Tie With Stanley Cup Game 4, 'MasterChef' (Updated)

Update, 3:20 p.m. Thursday: In final numbers, Fox -- which aired "MasterChef" throughout its primetime slate -- bumped up to a 2.2 rating in the key 18-49 demographic, tying NBC for first place.

Game 4 of the NHL's Stanley Cup on NBC on Wednesday night, tied with Fox's "MasterChef," according to preliminary numbers.

While NBC's ratings are approximate due to the nature of live sports, early numbers give the network, and the game, a 2.2 rating/7 share, tying with Fox's "MasterChef." The Game was first place in total viewers with 6.5 million, making it the most-watched program of the night and the most-watched Stanley Cup Game 4 in recorded history. The ratings represent a 175 percent surge from last year's Game 4, though that game aired on VS. (which has since been rechristened NBC Sports Network).

Fox, which aired "MasterChef" throughout its primetime, also had a 2.2/7 and was third in total viewers with 5.3 million.

Univision took third place in ratings and fifth in total viewers with a 1.5/5 and 3.6 million.

CBS, which was fourth in ratings and second in total viewers with a 1.1/4 and 6 million, aired repeats aside from "American Baking Competition" at 8 p.m., which ran even with last week for a 1.2/4 and took 5.8 million total viewers. (One interesting note, the network's "CSI" repeat at 10 was the night's most-watched show with 6.3 million total viewers.)

ABC drew fifth place in ratings and fourth in total viewers with a 1.0/3 and 3.8 million. Following a repeat of "The Middle" at 8, the canceled "Family Tools" at 8:30 ran even with last week for a 0.9/3 with 3.6 million total viewers.

A "Modern Family" repeat was followed by "How to Live With Your Parents (for the Rest of Your Life) at 9:30, which slid 17 percent to a series low of 1.0/3 and drew 3.4 million total viewers. "Nightline: The Lookout" at 10 was flat with last week for a 1.1/3 and drew 3.7 million total viewers.
