“Son of Zorn” battled its way to a nice ratings boost this week.
The Fox comedy starring animated interstellar warrior Zorn (voiced by Jason Sudeikis) pulled in 1.6 rating in the key adults 18-49 demographic and 3.6 million viewers. That is a 45 percent increase in the key demo and a 35 percent increase in total viewers versus last week.
After a preview airing, the show officially premiered on Sept. 11. At that time, it opened to a 2.4 rating and 6.1 million viewers.

It should be noted, however, that due to NFL football delays and time zone adjustments, these numbers will be updated later on Monday.
NBC finished first for the night, averaging 13.9 million viewers and 5.0 rating in the key demo. The Pittsburgh Steelers played the Kansas City Chiefs starting at 8, attracting an 11.0 rating and 16.2 million viewers.
Fox finished second in the key demo with a 2.8 rating and third in total viewers with 7.5 million. Following NFL football, “The Simpsons” drew just under 6 million viewers and a 2.6 rating at 8. “Son of Zorn” followed at 8:30. “Family Guy” got 3.5 million viewers and a 1.6 rating at 9. “Last Man on Earth” followed at 9:30 with 2.6 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.

CBS came in second in total viewers with 9.4 million and third in the demo with a 1.2 rating. “NCIS: LA” drew in 11.5 million viewers and a 1.5 rating at 8 p.m. The season premiere of “Madam Secretary” pulled in 9.4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating at 9, down slightly from last season. The season premiere of “Elementary” followed at 10, drawing in 6.3 million viewers and a 0.8 rating.
ABC finished fourth in the demo with a 1.0 rating and fourth in total viewers with 3.9. “Once Upon a Time” aired at 8, with 3.7 million viewers and a 1.1 rating. “Secrets and Lies” followed at 9 with 3.7 million viewers and a 0.9 rating. “Quantico” closed out at 10 with 3.6 million viewers and a 1.0 rating.
Telemundo finished fifth with 1.8 million viewers and a 0.7 rating.
Univision finished sixth with 1.6 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.
