Ratings: Castle Returns Up, Deception Wins Time Slot With Not-So-Revolutionary Numbers

It was a crowded house indeed for Castle, as the ABC series’ winter premiere drew this Monday’s largest audience with 8.6 million total viewers, while rising two tenths in the demo to a 1.9 rating.

Castle however was edged out for the 10 o’clock demo win by NBC newbie Deception, which opened to 5.6 mil and a 2.0 — down sharply from time slot predecessor Revolution‘s own launch (11.7 mil/4.1) and fall finale (8.5 mil/2.9), both of which of course benefited from a much beefier lead-in (The Voice) than The Biggest Loser.
