Pilot Scoop: CBS Orders Two Comedies from Greg Garcia, Kennedy-esque Drama and More

If everything goes his way, Greg Garcia will have two comedies on the CBS schedule this fall.

The Eye Network Friday extended pilot orders to the Raising Hope writer/EP’s Super Clyde, a single-camera sitcom about a meek fast food worker who decides to become a super hero. It also ordered his untitled multi-camera pilot about a recently divorced man living with his parents.

The go-aheads were a homecoming of a sort for Garcia; his Yes Dear ran on CBS from 2000 – 2006.

The network also moved forward with The McCarthys, a single-camera comedy about a sports-crazed Boston family written by Brian Gallivan (Are You There, Chelsea?) and executive-produced by Will Gluck (Gross Pointe, The Loop).

The Ordained, penned by author/journalist Lisa Takeuchi Cullen and exec-produced by Frank Marshall (War Horse, The Bourne Legacy) and Larry Shuman (Devious Maids), centers on the son of a Kennedy-esque family who leaves the priesthood and becomes a lawyer to prevent his politican sister from being assasinated.
