Nastaran Dibai & Aaron Kaplan Re-Team For ABC Romantic Comedy
Five years ago, when Aaron Kaplan was transitioning from agenting to producing, he landed his first pilot order at ABC for the comedy
Funny In Farsi,
written by Nastaran Dibai and her late husband and writing partner Jeffrey Hodes. Now Kaplan and Dibai are back developing together with another comedy sale at ABC. The single-camera Follow Your Heart hails from Warner Bros TV and Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment. It centers on a widow and single mother who, after having given up on love, finds herself drawn to the new guy in her building. That’s because, unbeknownst to her, he was the recipient of her husband’s heart. This marks Dibai’s first development since Hodes’ death from cancer complications three years ago. They have a young daughter.
Dibai, repped by WME and Jamie Mandelbaum, recently served as executive producer/showrunner on ABC comedy series’ Malibu Country and as co-executive producer on Kapital’s CBS comedy Friends with Better Lives.
