Get ready for a Christmas miracle, Nashville fans: Though Season 5 doesn’t make its official debut on CMT until Jan. 5, the network has announced it will air a sneak preview of the two-hour premiere on Dec. 15 at 9 p.m. And based on the new trailer, the music drama will be bringing fans all sorts of soapy goodness: Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) seem to be falling into destructive patterns; the now un-emancipated Maddie (Lennon Stella) has her eye on a “dreamy” new guy; another man may be coming between Will (Chris Carmack) and Kevin (Kyle Dean Massey); and Gunnar (Sam Palladio) and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) are still doing their infuriating will-they-won’t-they-oh-God-just-do-it-already dance.

Oh, and there’s the little matter of the plane carrying Juliette (Hayden Panettiere), which is threatening to fall out of the sky.

All new episodes of Nashville (including the Dec. 15 sneak preview) will stream on Hulu the day after they air on CMT, and you can catch up on past seasons now on Hulu and Yahoo View.

The two-hour Season 5 premiere of Nashville will preview on Thursday, December 15, at 9 p.m. on CMT. The season will officially kick off on Thursday, Jan. 5, at 9 p.m. on CMT.
