Michelle Obama Heading To ‘Rachael Ray’ & ‘Dr. Oz Show’ Today, On David Letterman Tonight

Looks like Michelle Obama is hitting the TV campaign trail today harder than anticipated. As the Republicans head into the second full day of their convention in Tampa, Florida, The White House announced today that the First Lady will be heading to New York to ostensibly talk fitness and health and tape shows with Rachael Ray and Dr. Oz to air next month. Then, as previously announced, it over to Late Show With David Letterman. This will be the First Lady’s third visit with the CBS host. Here’s the guidance the White House put out today:

First Lady Michelle Obama will make three television appearances as part of a back to school tour to discuss improvements to the federal guidelines for school lunches that go into effect this school year, and updates to the Presidential Youth Fitness Program. Mrs. Obama will make her first visits to “The Dr. Oz Show” and “Rachael Ray” for appearances that will air in September. The First Lady will make her third appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman,” which will air in the evening at 11:35 PM Eastern.

Today’s Letterman visit marks Michelle Obama’s second time on late night TV this month. Along with Olympian Gabby Douglas, the First Lady was on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on August 13. This was her third visit to Leno and came a day after she did fundraisers at the homes of Warner Bros, chief Barry Meyers and No Doubt lead singer Gwen Stefani.
