Melissa Rosenberg’s Tall Girls Productions Sells Projects To ABC & NBC

Melissa Rosenberg and her producing partner Kate Schumaecker have set up two projects through their ABC Studios-based company Talls Girls Prods. — half-hour comedy The Mighty Camilla at ABC and drama The Zone at NBC.

Additionally, Tall Girls is developing through ABC Studios’ cable division, ABC Signature, a project with Mike Cahill (Another Earth, I-Origins) attached to write and direct. It is targeted for premium cable networks.

Comedy The Mighty Camilla, is based on an original spec script by newcomer Allison Kiessling and executive produced by Kristin Newman (Neighbors). It centers on an unlucky-in-love New York social worker who gets recruited by a handsome man from the future as the unlikely savior of humanity.

Drama The Zone is set in a present-day prison colony situated in an uninhabited area of California where there are no guards, no laws, and the prisoners are left to fend for themselves. Into this world comes a young woman, skilled in combat and survival, who has gotten herself incarcerated so that she can find her father who went missing before his sentence was up. Teddy Tenenbaum, who is currently rebooting the Hellraiser franchise for Dimension, is the writer.

Dexter alum Rosenberg, writer of the blockbuster Twilight franchise, penned and is showrunning the Marvel/Netflix series Jessica Jones. Rosenberg/Tall Girls is repped by UTA and 3 Arts. Kiessling is repped by Apostle, Original Artists and Jackoway Tyerman; Tenenbaum is repped by Paradigm and Jim Wedaa. Cahill is with WME.
