On September 22nd, M83 will play with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl ampitheater in Los Angeles. Now the expansive gig has an interactive component: in partnership with Genero.tv, the band has started a video contest asking fans to submit their own visuals for the songs "Intro" and "Moonchild." The deadline for submissions is September 11th at 23:59 GMT.
The winning treatments (selected by the band's lead member, Anthony Gonzalez) will accompany the live Hollywood Bowl performances and also be released as official music videos. Each winning filmmaker will receive $4,000.
According to a press release, "The winners, as well as a selection of the best entries, will also be screened at a special event during the Zookastar Festival in London on Saturday, November 2nd, along with a combination of M83 videos." More details about the project can be found at the Genero.tv website. For visual inspiration, check out the M83 Youtube channel.
