Leonardo DiCaprio to Executive Produce History Channel Documentary ‘Frontiersmen’
Leonardo DiCaprio is heading home, home on the range.
The “Wolf of Wall Street” star is set to executive produce History Channel documentary, “Frontiersmen.” The eight-hour series will tell the tales of Daniel Boone, Lewis & Clarke, Davy Crocket and Andrew Jackson.
“Frontiersmen” will span a formative period of American history — the first 75 years from the post-revolutionary war colonies through the California Gold Rush, per a Monday morning History release. The series will show how the frontier helped shape us from colonists into today’s Americans.

“During these years, America went from the opportunity of land to the land of opportunity and it was a bloody struggle throughout,” said History Programming chief Paul Cabana. “From Crockett to Boone, we’ll tell the bold stories of these adventurous trailblazers who explored the uncharted wilderness and became the icons we know today.”
“Frontiersmen” is produced for History by Appian Way Productions and Stephen David Entertainment. Jennifer Davisson and Stephen David will earn executive producing credits, as will Michael Hampton and Phillip Watson for Appian Way Productions. Kristen Burns and Russ McCarroll are executive producers for History.
A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for “Frontiersmen.”
