Law & Order: SVU Episode Based on Donald Trump Pushed Again, to 2017
Law & Order: SVU‘s take on Donald Trump has been put on the shelf — yes, again.
The planned episode, entitled “Unstoppable,” was set to air next Wednesday, Nov. 16, but it’s once again been postponed, per our sister site Deadline. No air date has been set, but it’s not expected to air until next year, with Trump — who won the presidential election in a stunning upset — due to be inaugurated in January.

The scheduling change is actually due to the World Series, with last Wednesday’s Game 7 pushing a new episode of SVU off the schedule. (That episode will air this Wednesday, with a two-hour Chicago P.D. taking SVU‘s timeslot next week.) But it’s fair to wonder whether the controversial episode will ever air, in light of Trump’s win. “Unstoppable” stars Veep‘s Gary Cole as a Trump-like presidential candidate whose campaign is derailed when he’s accused of raping an underage girl.
“Unstoppable” was filmed months ago, and was originally slated as the second episode of the current Season 18. But internal concerns over the episode’s content pushed it back to October, and then NBC decided to hold it until after the election to avoid painting Trump in a bad light. (Mission accomplished.)
