Kim Kardashian Held Up at Gunpoint in Paris Hotel Room

PARIS — Kim Kardashian was “badly shaken” but unharmed Sunday night after being held up at gunpoint in her Paris hotel room.

According to her spokesman, the reality TV star was burglarized by two masked men posing as cops. A source close to the investigation told Reuters that five men, rather than a couple, stormed into the hotel.

The French Interior Ministry said during a briefing on Monday that the five men threatened the hotel concierge with a weapon and forced him to open Kardashian’s suite. As part of the investigation launched by the Paris Prosecutor’s office, details have emerged confirming that two of the men entered Kardashian’s private loft and stole jewelry worth more than $10 million. Previous French reports indicated the star’s two cell phones were stolen in the robbery, which took place around 3 a.m..

Kardashian was reportedly bound, gagged and locked in a bathroom during the encounter.

“Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers,” the spokesman said in a statement. “She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”

According to NBC News New York, the five men escaped on bikes and are still on the run.

The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star was in town for Paris Fashion Week, alongside sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, and mom Kris Jenner.

Her two children were not in the room at the time of the robbery, according to French reports.

Kardashian was one of several high-profile guests staying at the hotel, which is located in one of Paris’ most prestigious neighborhoods.

Earlier in the evening, Kanye West abruptly left his concert at Meadows Festival in New York, telling the crowd, “Sorry, family emergency, I have to stop the show.”

Kardashian left France early in the morning by plane.

The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, responded to the incident on Monday morning.

“I condemn the attack Kim Kardashian suffered last night in her hotel,” she said in a statement. “She has my support and will always be welcome here in Paris. I have full confidence that the police force, as part of their investigation, will quickly identify and apprehend the perpetrators of these acts.”
