Joe Biden Praises Mike Pence, Attempts to Quell National Security Fears on ‘The View’

Vice President Joe Biden stopped by The View on Friday, when he attempted to quell the fears some Americans have concerning national security under the upcoming Trump administration, especially given the current beef between Trump and pretty much the entire intelligence community. Biden spoke highly of soon-to-be Vice President Mike Pence, saying that he and Pence have been communicating quite a bit on issues of national security and foreign policy.

“I have great confidence in him [Pence]. I have great confidence in General Mattis. There are serious, serious people around the president who know a great deal about national security and foreign policy,” Biden said, later adding, “I am confident Mike Pence has a clear understanding of American foreign policy, where the genuine threats are.”

Biden also had some good news for those worried the Trump administration won’t be prepared when they take control on Jan. 20. He said he hasn’t been able to get together with Pence much recently because Pence has been so busy getting the administration prepared to make the transition. And though they disagree philosophically, Biden said that Pence and his family are decent people.
