The Jersey Shore brood is growing.
MTV alum Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio has welcomed a baby girl into the world, The Hollywood Reporter confirms. "I am proud I'm a father," the 33-year-old says in a statement. "I am excited to embark on this new part of my life."
TMZ first reported the news, alleging that the child's mother is a 26-year-old New Jersey resident whom DelVecchio met in Las Vegas last fall. According to TMZ's report, the duo engaged in a brief fling while in Sin City and a daughter, named Amabella, was born on May 15. See the baby's picture here.
DelVecchio has previously served as a house DJ at The Palms and The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. In 2011, he signed with 50 Cent's G-Note label and served as an opening act on select dates of Britney Spears' Femme Fatale tour.
A fan favorite on MTV's Jersey Shore reality series, DelVecchio nabbed his own spinoff -- centering on his life in Las Vegas -- titled The Pauly D Project. The show aired for one season in 2012 and was not renewed for a second.
"I'm so happy for Pauly," Jersey Shore co-star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, mom to 14-month-old Lorenzo, told E! News. "Definitely a shock to all of us, but we know Pauly is the best and he's going to be an amazing father. He's so loving and caring. I can't wait for Lorenzo and her to play."
