How Will Jodi Arias's Conviction Affect Lifetime's TV Movie?

In the case of Lifetime's TV movie about the Jodi Arias trial, the headlines are still in the process of being ripped.

On Wednesday, an Arizona jury found the 32-year-old guilty of murdering her ex-boyfriend, Travis Alexander.

Arias's trial featured plenty of violence and sex, including a lurid phone sex call, nude photos, titillating sexual details. It all adds up to a juicy recipe for a Lifetime movie. The cable network is prepping one starring Tania Raymonde ("Lost") as Arias and Jesse Lee Soffer ("The Mob Doctor") as Alexander. Lifetime will update the end of "Dirty Little Secret" to reflect the conviction.

"We had intentionally left the court scenes for the end of the shoot, so the film could be as up-to-date as possible," said Arturo Interian, Vice President, Original Movies for Lifetime.

"In fact, Tania Raymonde (who plays Jodi), Tony Plana (who plays Prosecutor Juan Martinez), and Meredith Salenger (who plays Jodi's Defense Attorney Jennifer Willmott) are all filming some court scenes tomorrow."

The script describes Arias as a "a single-minded, head-strong, quick-tempered and jealous to the extreme." The handsome Alexander, a motivational Mormon speaker, falls prey to her manipulative charms, and soon Arias is "driven to violence" when she realizes he will never fully commit to her.

Raymonde, who played Alex Rousseau on "Lost," fit the producers' description of a "coquettish, head-turning" young woman "with a palpable sexy allure."

With the case moving into the sentencing phase, Arias has said she wants the death penalty.

"I said years ago I'd rather get death than life, and that still is true today," Arias told KSAZ. "I believe death is the ultimate freedom, so I'd rather just have my freedom as soon as I can get it."

But will "Dirty Little Secret" follow Arias to Death Row, if she winds up there?

"The producers and I have debated Jodi's provocative statement about wanting the death penalty. Is that what Jodi sincerely wants, or given her history of lies and manipulation in this case, is it an attempt at some 'reverse psychology' to avoid the death penalty?" Interian said.

"We'll definitely see her in prison in the film, possibly on death row if that's the sentence she receives. We're prepared either way."

The movie's ending has yet to be written and will incorporate the guilty verdict and possibly the sentencing.
